绝对定位且未知宽度的元素left设置50%，包裹的内容使用相对定位(relative)，left设置-50%即可。

<body>
  <div id="wrap" style="position: absolute; left: 50%;">
    <div id="content" style="position: relative; left: -50%; border: 1px solid blue">
      Hello World
    </div>
  </div>
</body>

方法不唯一，但这可能是最简单的一种。
